Frequently asked questions.OLYC Online Yacht Club Burgee

What is the Sailing Forum? The Sailing Forum is an online gathering of sailors in a discussion group, an online yacht club bar, where they talk about all aspects of sail racing.  It is part of the Outdoors Forum on Netscape and CompuServe. The other forums are listed in the column on your left.  The forums are free. You can read and download any of the messages and files in any of the discussion folders.

What are the Sailing Forum Rules? You do have to register to post messages or upload files.  There is no obligation on your part other than to follow the rules. It is a private club. The rules are basically no profanity, no personal attacks on anyone, no posting any..ahem...nude sailing photos etc. You can read, and agree to, the rules when you sign up for your online ID and Password.

What is the Online Yacht Club? Sailing Forum is also known as the Online Yacht Club, an official dues paying member yacht club of US SAILING. First signed up by USN Captain (ret) John Bonds, at the time, Executive Director of the US SAILING in 1986. That's our yacht club burgee in the graphic above, designed my Mike Hughes in an online contest.  What is it?  The green and white bars go back to the original computer paper with its green and white markings.
